Alexander Del Ponte

Vita

Since 2014, Alex has been designing and implementing full-stack web applications and specialized plugins for open-source e-learning platforms in several projects led by Prof. Dr. Wolf as part of ZeMKI, ITB, and the University of Bremen.

• 2014–2015 Technical development of draufhaber.tv, a peer-to-peer video learning platform based on the principles of constructivist learning and action-oriented teaching
• Starting in 2016 Technical design and implementation of the p:ier ePortfolio system for reflective competency documentation in teacher education (Mahara-based)
• From 2016: Technical design and implementation of the BOOC self-learning environment as an interactive, encyclopedic platform for the scientific research cycle (Moodle-based)
• From 2016: Technical design and implementation of the DIRA framework and associated learning applications to accelerate and standardize didactically sound software development (Tsugi-based)
• Starting in 2024: Technical design and implementation of the MILA app, a workplace-integrated application for digital knowledge transfer and communication in geriatric and long-term care (Mattermost Server- and Mattermost Mobile-based)

Previously, his work focused on the development of enterprise systems (including for ThyssenKrupp Elevator and Dunlop GmbH) and specialized software applications such as easyjob (Protonic Software).
While studying to become a teacher of biology and sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt, Alex placed particular emphasis on the modeling of biological neural networks as well as hermeneutic and (neo)hermeneutic methods of analysis.
In addition, he worked as a freelance studio and live guitarist, composer, band coach, and guitar and music teacher.
