Lab Good Life and Media Society
The Good Life and Media Society Lab (GLaMS) explores the role of media and communication in shaping what counts as a good life and for whom. The lab works on the premise that a good life is not just a matter of individual well-being, but depends on whether people experience themselves as part of a society they can participate in and help shape. Visions of the good life and of desirable futures serve as a source of orientation for individuals and societies alike. Without shared horizons of possibility, the capacity to act, cooperate, and sustain democratic life is undermined. Media play a key role in this process: they shape which ideas about the good life gain visibility, whose voices are heard, and how people navigate crises and change.
