Maria Schreiber is a professor of Digital Media & Culture at the University of Klagenfurt. Previously, she was an adjunct professor at ZeMKI and a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg, where she completed her habilitation in 2025. Her research focuses on visual practices and representations and their interplay with platforms, digital cultures, and biographical and social transformations. She is one of the co-chairs of the ECREA Visual Cultures section and served as principal investigator (PI) on the CHANSE project “Trust and Visuality: Everyday Digital Practices (TRAVIS),” which examined visual trust practices in the context of health and wellness content on social media.
