In the article entitled “Three Years of ChatGPT: How Does AI Threaten Public Communication?”, which recently appeared in the University of Bremen's online magazine, ZeMKI member Cornelius Puschmann explains the risks of automated bots for democratic discourse.

We are delighted to announce that former ZeMKI member Anne Schmitz successfully defended her dissertation “Journalistic Tools as ‘Boundary Objects’”, on 18 November 2025.

Yuru Li from the DCID Lab gave a presentation entitled "The Multi-Modal Frames of Politicians' Personalization Strategies and Their Impact on Social Media Engagement" at the CeCoR research meeting in Amsterdam on November 20, 2025.

ZeMKI member Sandra Kero recently published an article together with Dr. Josephine B. Schmitt (CAIS) entitled “Narrative, Creative – Immersive? The Immersive Potential of Right-Wing Extremist Communication on Social Media”.

At ZeMKI, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp leads the work package “Prototypes of Social Cohesion”, supported by Hendrik Kühn, who works as a research associate.

ZeMKI members Sandra Kero and Rieke Böhling will participate in the joint conference of the DGPuK specialist groups on media, public relations, gender, and visual communication from November 19 to 21.

Prof. Cornelius Puschmann, head of the Lab for Digital Communication and Information Diversity (DCID), gave a lecture as part of the Brownbag Seminar series organized by the Diginomics Research Group.

In October 2025, the Center for Media, Communication, and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen will welcome Prof. Dr. Lissa Holloway-Attaway from the University of Skövde in Sweden as a visiting scholar.
