On April 16, the “Growmorrow – Celebrate the Future” event will take place in Bremen. ZeMKI member Prof. Dr. Christian Schwarzenegger has been invited to participate in a panel discussion on the main stage titled “Freedom of Speech, Media, and AI – Who Shapes Our Reality?”.

Dr. Paloma Viejo Otero will present at the symposium "Statecraft, Sovereignty & Digital Government" that will take place on 16 - 17 April 2026 at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Karina Moritzen is a PhD candidate in Musicology at the Universtiy of Oldenburg and in Communication at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. Since April 2026, she serves as an advisory member of the “Media and Religion” lab led by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Radde-Antweiler at ZeMKI.

ZeMKI Head Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp will deliver the keynote address at the international conference “Creative Communication and Empowerment,” which will take place on April 17 and 18 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The next research colloquium of the 2026 summer semester will take place on April 15, 2026, at 4:15 pm, featuring a lecture by Prof. Dr. Ferruh Yilmaz from Tulane University (USA). The lecture, titled “The Global Rise of the Far Right: Populist Strategy, Crisis, and Affect,” will take place at Linzer Straße 4 in Room 60.070.
