Presentation by Prof. Cornelius Puschmann at the WIN conference “Foundations and Perspectives of European Platform Regulation” in Heidelberg

Prof. Cornelius Puschmann from the Lab for Digital Communication and Information Diversity (DCID) will give a lecture at the WIN Conference of the Young Academy of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities entitled “Platforms as a Digital Public Sphere: Platform Communication and Self-Representation on Social Platforms”.

The WIN conference entitled “Foundations and Perspectives of European Platform Regulation” will take place from September 19-20 in Heidelberg. The regulation of internet platforms is currently one of the most important legislative projects at European Union level. As soon as the regulations currently under discussion come into force, their application will present courts and legal scholars with a variety of challenges. Overcoming these challenges requires an interdisciplinary understanding of the framework conditions and assumptions of platform regulation (“foundations”). The planned conference and the resulting internationally visible anthology should make this possible and at the same time contribute to the further development of this area of law (“Perspectives”).
