ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research Prof Cornelius Puschmann invited as an expert to discuss the availability of data in social media at the University of Copenhagen NewsZeMKI-News13. May 2024 Prof. Cornelius Puschmann from the Digital Communication and Information Diversity Lab (DCID) is invited as an expert on social media data to the event “Navigating the Social Media Data Terrain: Roundtable on the Current Landscape of Social Media Data Availability” hosted by the SAMF Data Lab at the University of Copenhagen on 23 May 2024. The aim of the event is to provide social scientists with insights and understanding about the availability and limitations of social media data. Experts with different backgrounds in social media data will discuss how researchers can access data from large online platforms such as Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) and what specific types of data are available. In addition, the draft EU Digital Services Act will be discussed, in particular its potential impact on the use of these platforms by researchers.
