Practice meets Science: Christoph Pieper (Director of Communications at Werder Bremen) as a Guest at the ZeMKI

On November 26, 2024, Christoph Pieper (Director of Communications Werder Bremen) will be a guest in the KMW 1 lecture “Introduction to Theories and Basic Concepts” by ZeMKI member Dr. Philip Sinner.

As part of the two units on “Media Professionals”, Christoph Pieper will provide students with insights into the field of organizational communication and discuss the diversity, opportunities, challenges and current fields of activity in media and press work. Christoph Pieper studied at Ruhr University Bochum and Stockholm University and has many years of professional experience in the field of media and communication. Before taking over as Head of Communications at SV Werder Bremen, he held this position at FC St. Pauli in Hamburg. He previously worked there and at FC Schalke 04 in the media department. Continuous change processes of mediatization have fundamental effects on the professional fields and working methods associated with media and communication. Against this background, the lecture provides deep insights into this area of communication work and offers an outlook on possible career paths after graduating from the BA program in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Bremen.
