Verena Honkomp-Wilkens
Biography
Verena Honkomp-Wilkens has been an associate researcher at the ZeMKI Lab “Media and Education” since spring 2026. Prior to that, she served as a research assistant in the Department of Media Education and Didactics of Multimedia Learning Environments at the Faculty of Education and at ZeMKI until January 2024. There, she was part of the project team “Digital Extracurricular Learning and Education-Related Practices of Adolescents” in the “Media and Education” Lab.
From 2011 to 2018, she studied Art and Media Studies in Braunschweig and Oldenburg. Her master’s studies focused on the analysis of representations of flight and migration, as well as discourses in postcolonial theory and gender studies. Following her studies, she worked as a project coordinator in adult education and in the support of refugees.
