Maria Schreiber is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg. She received her PhD in Journalism and Communication Studies from the University of Vienna in 2017. Her research focuses on visual practices and representations and their entanglement with platforms, digital cultures, biographical and social transformations. She is one of the chairs of the ECREA Visual Cultures section and PI in the CHANSE project “Trust and Visuality: Everyday digital practices (TRAVIS)”, which investigates visual trust practices in the context of health and wellness content on social media.
