Lecture at the 'Generative Images - Generative Imageries' conference

Cornelius Puschmann and Paul Pressmann will give a talk on “Images of Resistance: Exploring Folk Theories in User-Induced Collective Interventions against AI-generated Images on Facebook” at a DGPuK conference in Bremen.

The talk on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 13:45-14:00 is part of the international conference “Generative Images – Generative Imageries: Challenges of Visual Communication (Research) in the Age of AI”, which will take place from November 20 to 22, 2024 at the University of Bremen and online. The conference is organized by the Visual Communication Section of the DGPuK.

Puschmann and Pressmann will shed light on how users on Facebook are taking joint action against AI-generated images. The focus is on their everyday beliefs and assumptions – so-called “folk theories”. These influence how people perceive AI content and organize themselves against it.
