Research Projects The Media Passport as an Instrument for Promoting Media Literacy CompletedResearch project Duration: 2014 – 2015Project lead: Prof. Dr. Andreas BreiterComparative analysis based on the study on media integration in elementary school in North Rhine-Westphalia Research association/cooperation: Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib) Funding institution: Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) The Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) has commissioned ifib to evaluate the Medienpass NRW project. Building on the results of the study “Media integration in elementary school”, the study examined how the Medienpass NRW supports the promotion of media literacy in elementary school. The effectiveness of the instrument was evaluated using a triangulation of qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition to typical application scenarios and the evaluation of the content, the conditions in the individual schools that promote the successful use of the Medienpass NRW were also surveyed. Another important question for the evaluation was what role the Media Passport plays in inclusive school education. Above all, the results should be useful for the further development of the offer.
