The PhD Program at ZeMKI will conduct Exposé Workshops for First Year PhD Candidates this November.

From September 28 to October 2, 2025, a group of ZeMKI PhD students participated in a writing retreat on the island of Spiekeroog, located in the Wadden Sea National Park.

The ZeMKI "Media and Religion" department, headed by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Radde-Antweiler, is seeking two research associates (f/m/d) interested in researching the mediatization of religion, preferably religion and digital gaming. A focus on religion is not necessary.

The 26th Annual Conference of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) will take place from October 15 to 18, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. ZeMKI will also be represented with numerous contributions under this year's theme, “Ruptures.”

To mark the 20th anniversary of ZeMKI, the University of Bremen's online magazine up2date has published a detailed article on the history, development, and significance of ZeMKI.

A new working paper by Shichao Zhang, Shinae Lee and Chankyung Pak entitled “Uncertain Election Polls, Uncertain News Coverage: Two-Sided Heterogeneity in News Outlet–Pollster Relations" was recently published.

In the winter semester 2025/26, the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen once again invites you to an exciting series of international research colloquia.

This year's protest research conference, entitled “Protests and Social Movements between Innovation and Tradition,” will take place from October 1 to October 2, 2025, at the Forum am Domshof in Bremen. ZeMKI will be represented with numerous presentations.
