ZeMKI members Prof. Dr. Christian Schwarzenegger and Katharina Schöppl are speaking today, April 9, 2026, at the ECREA Journalism Section conference on the topic "The threads behind the trends." They will present a paper titled "Emotional Belonging Against Epistemic Uncertainty? Understanding Alternative Media Use Beyond Ideology".

At the first research colloquium of the summer semester on April 8, 2026, at ZeMKI, Greg Elmer spoke about “The TV Show,” a provocative documentary that explores complex personal identities, online relationships, and political conflicts within a daily YouTube “TV show.”

ZeMKI is pleased to welcome a new addition: Prof. Dr. Axel Bruns has recently joined the “Communicative AI” (ComAI) research group as a Mercator Fellow.
