How is religious agency changing in the age of digitalization and artificial intelligence? Researchers at the Universities of Bremen and Würzburg are addressing this question in the new DFG research network CARD. The interdisciplinary project is scheduled to run for three years.

On September 22, 2025, the winter semester had already begun for international students at the University of Bremen and ZeMKI welcomes noumerous guests from all over the world.

ZeMKI member Delia González de Reufels was a guest on the COSMO podcast on September 21, 2025, discussing the topic “La Malinche – Strategin oder Verräterin Mexikos?”

The research project “Films by Yugoslav Women Filmmakers: Image, Sonic Icons, Lack of Digitization, and Gender,” led by ZeMKI member Dr. Vesi Vuković, sheds light on the mostly overlooked Yugoslav women filmmakers and other often neglected roles of women in film, such as editors and screenwriters.

The research team of Sabine Reich, Stephanie Geise, Anna Ricarda Luther, and Michael Linke will present their latest study at the Media Psychology section conference of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) 2025 in Duisburg.

On September 9 and 10, 2025, the annual meeting of the steering committee of the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen took place at the Bildungsstätte Bredbeck (Osterholz-Scharmbeck). 

The article by ZeMKI member Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp entitled "Curators of digital futures: The life cycle of pioneer communities", which appeared online in the Journal "New Media & Society" in 2024, is now also available in print.
