On November 6, 2024, the research colloquium by Prof. Dr. Christian Greiffenhagen, Rongyu Li and Mark Perry on "Resolving Ambiguity in Symmetrical Interactions: 'Do I Scan You or You Scan Me?'” will take place at the ZeMKI.

A research group involving ZeMKI members Prof. Cornelius Puschmann and Patrick Zerrer has been awarded the contract for a study by the Federal Network Agency on the systemic risks of platforms in the context of the Digital Service Act.

From October 30, 2024 to November 02, 2024, this year's Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR) conference will take place at the University of Sheffield, where numerous ZeMKI members will give presentations.

The PGMT Lab is going to AoIR in Sheffield, UK, from October 30 to November 2, 2024. The conference brings together hundreds of academics, researchers and other participants for an interdisciplinary, multi-methodological look at the Internet.

On October 23, 2024, the research colloquium by Prof. Dr. Lars de Wildt on "Global Gaming’s Reorientation to China" will take place at the ZeMKI.

"An Industry Perspective on Regulating Platformized Sexual Content" - Rébecca Suzanne Franco will be speaking in the next session of PGMT Lab's online talk series “Behind the Scenes - Conversations on Empirical Platform Governance Research".

Dr. Daria Dergacheva from PGMT Lab will present on the topic “Governing Russian disinformation: very large social media platforms policies in the context of Russian invasion and war in Ukraine” at a workshop at Maastricht University on October 11, 2024.

ZeMKI members Prof. Dr. Stephanie Geise and Prof. Dr. Cornelius Puschmann are part of the Graduate Student Scholarship Program (GSSP) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

From September to October 2024, Dr. Piotr Siuda (Faculty of Cultural Studies, Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Poland) will be a Research Fellow at ZeMKI. His research focus is gaming. More information here.

On September 30, 2024, the “Beyond Play The Transformative Power of Digital Gaming in a Deeply Mediatized Society” conference will start at 11 a.m. with an exciting program at the University of Bremen. The conference will run until October 2, 2024.

On September 18th, the OpenQDA-Team gave a presentation "The OpenQDA project: a software architecture for a sustainable open research software for collaborative qualitative data analysis" at the 25th DINI conference in Potsdam.

A new publication entitled “Communicating the League of Nations: Contributions to a Transnational Communication History of the League of Nations in the Inter-War Period (1920-1938)” by Erik Koenen and other ZeMKI members has been published.

The program for the 3rd IASGAR Research Day “Digital Gaming and Values” on September 28, 2024 is now online.

From September 18 to 20, the 7th annual conference of the DGPuK sdivision Media Sports and Sports Communication took place in Hamburg with strong participation from the ZeMKI.

Today marked the end of the 2024 Writing Week, which took place from September 16 to 20 at the Ev. Bildungszentrum Bad Bederkesa.
