Nomos has recently published the English-language Handbook of Media Use, edited by Holger Schramm, Volker Gehrau, Helena Bilandzic, and Carsten Wünsch, which also includes two chapters by ZeMKI members Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp, Dr. Philip Sinner, and Simon Sax.

Prof. Dr. Axel Bruns will open the ZeMKI ComAI Lecture Series in the summer semester of 2026.

ZeMKI members Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter and Paola Lopez publish their new work "The double edge of communicative AI: continuity and disruption in higher education".

The 71st Annual Conference of the DGPuK (German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies) will take place from March 18 to 20, 2026, at the Institute of Journalism at the Technical University of Dortmund.

Nieki Samar presented the initial findings of her research project "Echoes of the #IranProtest: Political narratives of Iran bloggers on German social media" at a panel discussion. She is currently conducting this project together with ZeMKI members Paul Pressmann and Michael Linke.

ZeMKI member Kerstin Radde-Antweiler will participate in a panel discussion on the topic "Does Politics Belong in Video Games? Games have long since become more than just a pastime. They tell stories, build worlds – and in doing so, sometimes convey values." on the ARD MixTalk program on March 4th at 8:30 pm.

The new ZeMKI working Paper by Eugenia Siapera, entitled  “From Disruption to Reaction: The Eschatology of Silicon Valley” is now available.

Together with Kevin Barth from Deutschlandfunk, ZeMKI member Dr. Philip Sinner discussed Milano Cortina d'Ampezzo 2026, focusing in particular on the great successes of media coverage and further processing from a communication and media studies perspective. The report was broadcast on Deutschlandfunk's Sport am Sonntag program.
