Andreas Hepp discusses the role of sociology of knowledge at the DGS Congress

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Section “Wissenssoziologie”, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp is participating in a panel discussion at the Congress of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Soziologie (DGS) today. The panel is entitled “Wissenssoziologie (in) einer sich verändernden Welt” and addresses the question of which social developments and figurations challenge research in the sociology of knowledge – both then and now.
In the first part of the panel, Hubert Knoblauch, Hans-Georg Soeffner, and Monika Wohlrab-Sahr will talk about key developments in the sociology of knowledge. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic “Warum Wissenssoziologie heute?”, in which Andreas Hepp, Roswitha Breckner, Boris Traue, and Julia Wustmann will participate. Michael Müller and Silke Steets will moderate.
