November 2023 PrivatFrom 9 to 11 November, the members of the Temporary Working Group will meet at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague to discuss current empirical projects and theoretical approaches to media sports, sports communication, mediatization, automation and datafication under the umbrella topic of “Sports Communication in Transition”. The conference will be organized on site by Prof. Dr. Alice Nemcová Tejkalová, Dr. Veronika Macková, Dr. Katerina Turková and Anna Hrbácková. The management team of the TWG consists of Prof. Dr. Kirsten Frandsen (Aarhus University), JProf. Dr. Daniel Nölleke (DSHS Cologne), Dr. Xavier Ramon-Vegas (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and ZeMKI member Dr. Philip Sinner. The conference is the largest event on research in the field of media sport and sports communication in Europe. ZeMKI member Dr. Philip Sinner is represented there with three lectures: Dr. Philip Sinner & Niels Bibert: (Online) Sports Beting – A Plea for Inclusion in Sports Communication Research. Prof. Dr. Sascha Trültzsch-Wijnen (Uni Salzburg) & Dr. Philip Sinner: (Self-) Presentations of Austrian and German Winter Sport Athletes in Social Media: Sport, Advertising and Sexualization ? Transitions and Continuities 2012, 2017 and 2022. Niels Bibert, Jiamin Li (Zheijiang University) & Dr. Philip Sinner: Exploring the Consumption of Sports Livestreams Through Online Betting Platforms. Two of the presentations were developed in collaboration with Niels Bibert, PhD student at KU Leuven, project collaborator at Hasselt University (Belgium) and member of the Communicative Figurations Network.
