ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research Research Software made at ZeMKI: Pre-release of OpenQDA is now live NewsZeMKI-News17. June 2024 The pre-release version of the “OpenQDA” software currently being developed at ZeMKI is now available. As usual, users can code qualitative data (interviews, observation protocols, etc.) with the open source software and benefit from its ease of use and the possibility for collaborative work. New in the pre-release version is the option to import and export codebooks from other QDA programs (e.g. MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti, Nvivo or f4analyse) using the REFI format. In addition, a plug-in for data preparation has been added, with which it is possible to automatically transcribe audio files thanks to aTrain, which was developed at the University of Graz. In addition to other less obvious improvements, the first version of a user manual is now available. The release of the full version of OpenQDA with even more functions is planned for August 2024. To use the software, which is free to use for everyone, simply visit the website. For any form of feedback, the quickest way to reach us is by email at OpenQDA@uni-bremen.de or via GitHub.
