ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research Prof Dr Cornelius Puschmann comments on the latest Bertelsmann study on online disinformation in the Weser-Kurier NewsZeMKI-News4. March 2024 Prof Dr Cornelius Puschmann from the Digital Communication and Information Diversity Lab comments as an expert on online disinformation on the results of the Bertelsmann study “Verunsicherte Öffentlichkeit” in the Weser Kurier. The study analyses the effects of online disinformation on the formation of political opinion. Puschmann is in favour of a strong media system in Germany and the responsibility of internet companies to take consistent action against fake news. Prof. Dr Cornelius Puschmann is currently researching the impact of (fake) news on social and political polarisation processes as part of the POLTRACK project.
