The ZeMKI Persons Katharina Schöppl Research AssociateResearch staff Lab membershipLab Media Change and Long-Term Transformation ProcessesContactBuilding/room: LINZ6 61.040E-mail: schoeppl@uni-bremen.de Vita Katharina Schöppl has been working as a research assistant in the ‘Media Change and Long-Term Transformation Processes’ lab since May 2024, conducting research together with Prof Dr Christian Schwarzenegger in the DFG project ‘Alternative Media – Alternative Public Spheres – Alternative Realities? Users and usage patterns of system-critical alternative media and their significance in the media repertoire over time’. She is also currently a lecturer at the Institute for Media, Knowledge and Communication (IMWK) at the University of Augsburg. Previously, she was a research assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Media, Knowledge and Communication at the University of Augsburg. Katharina Schöppl has been involved in various research projects and has analysed the visual self-presentation of scientists on social media in a research team with scientists from the University of Salzburg and the University of Vienna. She was also involved in the international comparative study ‘Mediated Parent Networks’ of the University of Surrey as an interviewer and coder (project lead for Austria: Dr Christine Trültzsch-Wijnen). In addition, she was a tutor for the course ‘Theories of Communication Studies’ at the University of Salzburg from March to June 2021 and worked as a student assistant in the ‘Media Use and Digital Cultures’ department at the University of Salzburg from October 2020 to June 2021. From 2019 to 2022, Katharina Schöppl completed the Master’s degree in Communication Studies and the Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Salzburg. She also completed a ‘Diplôme d’Université in Business Administration’ at the IUT Université Grenoble Alpes from February to May 2017.
