CV
Iveta Akopova studied at the University of Bremen to become a teacher for high schools and secondary schools, specializing in mathematics and religion, and graduated in 2024 with a Master of Education degree. In her master’s thesis entitled “Empirical Investigation of an Escape Room as a Method for Networking Mathematical Skills in the 6th Grade,” she examined the use of game-based learning formats in mathematics lessons. Previously, she had already addressed a religious education question in her bachelor’s thesis, “Was Jesus a Child?”
Since January 2025, she has been supervised as an external doctoral candidate in a dual doctoral program in teacher training at the Center for Teacher Training (ZfLB) at the University of Bremen by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Radde-Antweiler in the Department of Religious Studies. In this context, she is preparing a doctoral thesis that deals with the language-building design of escape rooms as a method for promoting subject competence in religious education, with a special focus on immigrant students from Ukraine.
