Gino Krüger

Since April 2023, Gino Krüger has been working as a research associate and PhD-candidate at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI). In addition to his teaching activities in the areas of non-standardised (qualitative) methods as well as the theoretical foundations of communication and media studies, he has been serving as the representative of the doctoral students since 2024, and is currently researching lifeworld-specific practices of appropriating communicative AI in his dissertation project.
Previously, he completed his B.A. (2016) in Political Science and Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he also worked from 2014 to 2017 as a student and later as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Howard Loewen at the Institute for Political Science. He then studied the master’s programs in Sociology and Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg until 2018 and further educated himself at Lancaster University – focusing on the utilization of computational linguistic methods in the social sciences. Subsequently, he completed his M.A. (2022) as part of the interdisciplinary master’s program Future Research at Freie Universität Berlin and worked from 2018 to 2020 as a research assistant for the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung.
