Prior to this, he completed his B.A. (2019) and M.A. (2023) in Cultural Studies at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His focus was on cultural change through the use of digital technologies and media. With the specialisation ‘Sound Studies – Digital Perspectives’, he also devoted himself to auditive cultures and sound research. In his master’s thesis, he focussed on media-structured and artificially generated (music) atmospheres that aim to create an affective climate for commercial environments. From 2020 to 2023, Alex Krause worked for Prof Dr Rolf Großmann as a student assistant in the audio team at the Institute of Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media (ICAM) at Leuphana University. There he took on editorial tasks for the website llaudioll.de (sound and technology culture) and supervised the project ‘Sound in Transition’ (2021).
