Patrick Zerrer visits the CSS department at GESIS as a guest researcher
27. October 2025
Dr. Patrick Zerrer spent two weeks as a guest researcher in the Computational Social Science (CSS) department at the GESIS Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences. During his stay, he visited the department’s app team, which focuses on the development and use of tracking apps, and engaged in intensive discussions with researchers about current projects and methods.
The CSS department collects digital behavioral data and develops computer-based methods for collecting and analyzing such data for social science research. It also supports researchers in integrating this data into their research designs. Its main research areas include the quality of digital behavioral data, the development and validation of computational social science methods, and the transformation of digital societies.
