Open throughout Germany: Local Information Platform molo expands and is now available everywhere

The local info app molo is expanding: The BMBF-funded ZeMKI project is no longer limited to project locations, but can now be used throughout Germany as a platform for local information and events.

The local info app molo bundles information and events, giving both large and small movers and shakers in the urban community more visibility. With the update to the current version, new molo locations can now be added directly via the app. molo is no longer limited to a small selection of project locations (including Bremen, Leipzig and Lüneburg), but is now available throughout Germany as a platform for local information and events. Whether you are an association, local newspaper or individual actor – the non-commercial platform for a new urban community is available to everyone free of charge.
This update brings the BMBF-funded project to strengthen local communities a big step closer to its goal of providing everyone throughout Germany with low-threshold access to local information. Setting up a new molo location is child’s play and takes less than a minute. All users can simply go to the plus button in the app via the location selection and enter the city name and zip code – and the new location is created (see image). Once set up, the calendar and info feed are immediately available so that local news and events can be shared with the local community. Local players who are already active on the web with their own homepage can make their articles available in the molo feed without any additional effort by integrating them via the RSS feed. In the app, the articles are displayed in short excerpts and linked, i.e. anyone who wants to read the article can access the original article on the respective website.
