The journal gamevironments, published by the ZeMKI-Lab Media and Religion, publishes the new special issue “Peripheral Religions”. The issue was edited by guest editors: Carolin Puckhaber, Aska Mayer and Knut V.M. Wormstädt. The authors deal with peripherality as a sociocultural, practical and contextual category in the context of gaming and religious practice. The articles apply the category to games such as Baldur’s Gate, Cyberpunkt 2077, Crusader Kings.
