On September 27, 2012, the workshop “Comparing Communication Research – Transnational Perspectives” will take place at the ZeMKI.

Researchers from Europe (Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Great Britain, Germany), the USA, Mexico and India will discuss the status quo of media and communication research under the conditions of mediatization and globalization.

  • How do the respective specialist communities deal with these phenomena?
  • What are the objects of research, theoretical references and research methods?
  • How do different national media, political and academic systems affect the research cultures?

The workshop is supported by the DFG’s SPP 1505 Mediatized Worlds and the Pressehaus NRZ Foundation and serves to prepare an international book project.
