Dom Ford at the “Otherworldy Entertainment” conference in Copenhagen

ZeMKI member Dr. Dom Ford from the Media and Religion Lab gives a talk on August 13th on “Magical Rationalism and Genetic Prophecy in Science Fiction Games,” in which he shows along the examples of Assassin’s Creed and Horizon Zero Dawn how genetics and science are used in video games to rationalize prophecies.

The Otherworldly Entertainment conference will address “Horror, Magic, Gothic, and the Occult in Video Games” and will take place from August 13th-15th in Copenhagen. It is organized by the Dark Arts Research Group and the Digital Cultures and Languages research group at the University of Copenhagen.
