A new paper by Patrick Zerrer and Cornelius Puschmann from the DCID Lab together with ZeMKI members Philipp Krieter and Stephanie Geise investigates mobile keyword tracking as a privacy-friendly data source in mobile media research.

The Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen, together with the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute (HBI) in Hamburg and other research institutions in Graz and Vienna, has successfully acquired a Research Unit from the German Research Foundation (DFG) on the topic of "Communicative Artificial Intelligence (ComAI)”.

ZeMKI member Dr. Dom Ford has been longlisted for the Enter Award 2024. The award recognizes two outstanding achievements in the field of open access and sets an example for the democratization of knowledge.

On 03/07/2024 the research colloquium of Dr. Julia Borst (University of Bremen) will take place.

On July 1, the members of the ZeMKI will meet to discuss joint research perspectives. At the internal conference, ZeMKI members will present the current status of their research projects in two poster sessions and discuss perspectives for the joint medium-term research strategy up to the year 2030.

9. Juli 2024, 13:00 – 14:00 Uhr: In the next edition of our online talk series "Behind the Scenes - Conversations on Empirical Platform Governance Research", Friederike Quint and Yannis Theocharis will talk about the role of community guidelines on social media platforms for users when evaluating potentially harmful content.

Special honor for the spokesperson of the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen: At the meeting of the International Communication Association (ICA) in Gold Coast, Australia, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp was appointed ICA Fellow on June 22, 2024.

Recently, a new working paper by former ZeMKI member Dr. Henrik Heuer et al. was published.
