ZeMKI member Dr. Dennis Redeker of the “Platform Governance, Media and Technology” Lab attended the United Nation’s Internet Governance Forum 2025 in Lillestrøm, Norway and presented research results and other outputs from research conducted at ZeMKI.

ZeMKI member Dr. Sabine Reich and Jun. Prof. Dr. Marko Bachl (FU Berlin) have published a new research, investigating the impact of sexist incivil comments on women’s discursive participation in political online spaces.

Research and study programs were presented to each other and future cooperation was discussed.

ZeMKI member Kerstin Radde-Antweiler, together with her colleagues from Canada, Poland, and Northern Ireland, presented findings on the role of religion during the Covid pandemic.

Lisanne Heilmann and Karsten D. Wolf from the Lab ‘Media & Education’ gave a talk on ‘Rubric-Based Explainable Feedback with AI-Assistance’ at this year’s University:Future Festival 2025 at the AI-Stage in Graz, Austria. ZeMKI member Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp publishes the article “Figurationen digitaler Zukünfte - oder: Warum wir eine Medien- und Kommunikationsforschung der Emergenz brauchen” in the newly published thematic issue of the Berliner Journal für Soziologie.

Dr. Miira Hill and Prof. Dr. Cornelius Puschmann from the DCID Lab receive the Communication History Division Top Paper Award of the ICA for their paper “Nostalgic for a Better Democracy? How German Right-Wing Social Media Commentators (Mis)remember the Past”.

The workshop provides a unique opportunity for participants to engage in discussions and debates about theoretical approaches for studying the intersection of religion, culture, and video gaming.
