Sandra Kero and Rieke Böhling at DGPuK conference on “Images in motion and moving with images: gender, power, and mobility”
14. November 2025
ZeMKI members Sandra Kero and Rieke Böhling will participate in the joint conference of the DGPuK specialist groups on media, public relations, gender, and visual communication from November 19 to 21. The theme of the conference is “Images in motion and moving with images: gender, power, and mobility.”
The conference will examine how mobility, media, and visibility are interrelated. The focus is on how people are set in motion by mobile and networked media technologies, how these movements are made visible, and who remains invisible in the process. The role of gender and power relations, intersectional inequalities, and the interplay of mobility and visual communication will also be discussed. In addition, the conference will address methodological challenges in research on mobile, fleeting, and processual media practices.
In the panel “Gender, Representation, Convention/Tradition,” both will give the following presentations on November 20 at 1:30 p.m.:
- “Nostalgic for the woman of tomorrow? The role of gender in visual AI imaginations for the construction of extreme right-wing realities/visions of the future” (Sandra Kero)
- “DeepNostalgia, LiveMemory, and AI Time Machine: Family Memories and Genealogy between Moving and Moving Images” (Rieke Böhling)
