20 years of ZeMKI – Kick-off for the anniversary conference

ZeMKI is kicking off its anniversary conference today with a get-together to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Under the theme “20 Years into the Future: What is our vision of media, data, and society?”, ZeMKI invites participants to reflect on the future of media, communication, and information research and to develop new perspectives on the relationship between media, data, and society.
Today’s get-together at the Bremen Press-Club (Schnoor 27, 28195 Bremen) marks the start of the celebrations and provides an opportunity for encounters, exchange, and shared memories. Researchers, alumni and guests of ZeMKI will come together to ring in the anniversary and get in the mood for the upcoming program.
Starting on Thursday, October 23, 2025, there will be lectures and discussions in which national and international scientists will shed light on key issues facing tomorrow’s media society.
With the anniversary conference, ZeMKI is not only looking back on two decades of interdisciplinary research, but also looking ahead to the next 20 years of media, communication, and information research in Bremen and beyond.
