ZeMKI is seeking a research associate for the “Good Life and Media Society” Lab
18. June 2026
ZeMKI has posted a job opening for a research assistant (Ph.D. candidate) for the research program of the Good Life and Media Society Lab.
At the Center for Media, Communication, and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen, a position as a research assistant (Ph.D. candidate) is available in the “Good Life and Media Society” Lab, headed by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Emilija Gagrčin. The advertised position is part of the Lab’s research program. It focuses on how media representations of role models and life trajectories influence what people perceive as desirable and how this relates to social inequality. The position is available as soon as possible and is limited to 36 months.
The position focuses on academic teaching responsibilities, participation in research, and the opportunity to pursue one’s own academic work (e.g., a doctoral dissertation). Candidates are expected to have a solid knowledge of qualitative research methods and teaching experience. Applications will be accepted until July 8, 2026.
We are looking for a curious, dedicated individual who enjoys qualitative research and is eager to develop their own ideas as part of a small, international lab team.
