New ZeMKI Member in the Lab Platform-Governance, Media and Technology: Welcome Imane El Qochairi

Imane El Qochairi is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen. She is part of the research project “Fostering Digital Pan-Africanism in AI Governance through Evidence and Action” with Dr. Dennis Redeker as Project Lead and she is affiliated with the ZeMKI Lab on Platform Governance, Media and Technology.

Imane El Qochairi holds a Master’s degree in European and Global Studies with a specialization in Communication Policies from the University of Padua. During the winter semester of 2024/25, she completed an Erasmus exchange at ZeMKI, where she wrote her MA thesis deploying a comparative analysis of French and Moroccan media coverage of the 2023 Al Haouz earthquake, focusing on media framing and postcolonial power relations in times of crisis.
