Completed PhD defense on the power of social movements

We are delighted to announce that our ZeMKI member Hannah Marie Büttner successfully defended her dissertation, titled “Social Movement Power in Digitally Networked Protest: A Study of Anti-Covid Communities on Telegram,” on May 5, 2026.

The examination committee consisted of ZeMKI members Prof. Dr. Cornelius Puschmann and Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter, as well as Prof. Dr. Sophia Hunger from the University of Bremen and Prof. Dr. Yannis Theocharis from the Technical University of Munich. ZeMKI members Paola Lopez and Anna Ricarda Luther served as non-voting members.
